Nursing Support Supervisor, Nursing Administrator
Hillcrest Medical Center

When I first began my nursing career, I wanted to work in the most intensive situations, so I chose one of the most critical parts of the hospital — the cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU). What kept me motivated was working hard to save somebody and then seeing them live. It’s something I put my heart and soul into.

After 10 years I was ready for a change, but I didn’t want to leave Hillcrest Medical Center. Fortunately, I was able to transition my knowledge and experience from the unit into a new position in nursing administration. Today, I’m teaching new employees our computerized charting system and organizing training for other parts of the hospital.

I enjoy working at Hillcrest Medical Center because there is so much strength and support. I also love the freedom I have in my new role. It allows me to work in almost every area of the hospital, drawing upon the years I spent in nursing to improve the way we use technology in support of patient care.
