I’ve worked at Hillcrest Medical Center for almost 19 years. The time has gone by so quickly, and I think that’s a good sign!
In graduate school I did a student internship at Hillcrest Medical Center before going on to work at another hospital for several years. I kept in touch with my Hillcrest co-workers so when the time was right to look for another opportunity, returned.
Being here has given me the opportunity to advance in my field. We have an allotment of continuing education credit opportunities every year, and I enjoy using them to learn new rehabilitation advancements. Some of my co-workers and I have taken a training course for treatment in swallowing. I always come out of the training activities really excited about what I’ve learned and eager to use it to help my patients.
My favorite thing about Hillcrest Medical Center is the people. I really enjoy working with patients as well as my co-workers and our administrators. In the rehab center, teamwork is important in delivering excellent, quality patient care. I have many patients who come back after their treatment to let us know how they’re doing, which leaves me with a sense of pride and accomplishment in my job.
